I. What is an OCTG pipe end thickening machine?

The OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods) Pipe End Thickening Machine is a specialized hydraulic/mechanical device designed for processing the ends of OCTG pipes used in the oil and gas industry. This machine is a specialized hydraulic forging equipment that uses localized heating and axial upsetting to create a thickened section of a specified shape and size at the end of the pipe. After subsequent threading, the thread strength of this thickened area can be equal to or even higher than that of the pipe body, thus completely solving the industry pain point of premature failure at the joint.

 

According to the API 5CT standard, pipe end thickening is divided into three types: external thickening (EU), internal thickening (IU), and internal and external thickening (IEU).
